David Schimsa, deputy director of Kirkuk Provincial Reconstruction Team, attached to 1st Advise and Assist Task Force, 1st Infantry Division, from Fort Riley, Kan., tours the newly opened micro-dairy plant near the city of Kirkuk, Iraq Feb. 17, 2011. M. Germaiani, a dairy specialist, explained to Schimsa the functions of each machine as it produces cheese and yogurt. U.S. forces and the Kirkuk PRT used the Commander's Emergency Response Program to acquire new technology to the Agriculture Department of Kirkuk to facilitate the building of four micro-dairy plants in the area.
