Sgt. Bradley Metz, a forward observer with Company A, 1st Battalion, 38th Infantry Regiment, 4th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, calls for fire Feb.16 during a simulated immediate smoke mission. Metz, an Attica, N.Y., native, made the call in 21 out of the 25 seconds he needed to pass that part of his week-long fire support team certification.
