ATLANTIC OCEAN (Sept. 1, 2017) An Amphibious Assault Vehicle (AAV) of the 2nd Marine Division prepares to enter the well deck of the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1) during its well deck certification. Wasp is currently underway acquiring certifications in preparation for its upcoming homeport shift to Sasebo, Japan where it is are slated to relieve the USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) in the 7th Fleet area of operations.
