Soldiers assigned to the 36th Engineer Brigade, load their vehicles with supplies from the American Red Cross and the help of volunteers from AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps, as part of a Supply Delivery Operation where their unit transported needed materials for cleaning up and sustainment to Wharton, Texas on Sep. 3. The Department of Defense is conducting Defense Support of Civil Authorities operations in response to the effects of Hurricane Harvey. DSCA operations are part of the DOD’s response capability to assist civilian responders in saving lives, relieving human suffering and mitigating property damage in response to a catastrophic disaster.
