The 98th Training Division (Initial Entry Training) commanding general, Brig. Gen. Miles A. Davis, leads his brigade commanders onto the field during an inactivation ceremony at Fort Benning, Georgia on July 8, 2017. The U.S. Army Reserve division inactivated eight units that day as part of a larger realignment to increase and maintain readiness. The units being inactivated dated back to 1917 and 1946 and their Soldiers served in numerous operations ranging from World War I to Afghanistan. Davis said these units nobly served the Nation for generations. "These units have risen to every challenge given to them. I commend the Soldiers and families, past and present, of these units for their hard work, commitment to excellence and service to our great Nation."
