The Antonov An-225 landed on the Camp Bastion airfield in Afghanistan, March 7, to deliver supplies to the troops aboard Camp Bastion and Camp Leatherneck, Afghanistan. The six jet engines on this aircraft provide enough power to propel the 628,315 pounds of weight when empty and the 1,323,000 pounds when fully loaded. This one-of-a-kind aircraft was originally designed to carry Russian-made spacecrafts, but its spacious design allows it to carry ultra-heavy and oversized cargo.
