    KEY WEST, Fla. (Sept. 7, 2017) Naval Air Station Key West's popular Navy Getaways Campground stands completely empty ahead of Hurricane Irma. Visitor to the air station evacuated ahead of the residents, and now non-essential active duty military, DOD civilians and their families have evacuated the base. Hurricane Irma is a Category 5 hurricane with sustained winds of more than 180 mph and is moving west-northwest at 17 mph. The storm is expected to impact the southeastern United States.
