William O'Brien, commanding officer, 3D Assault Amphibian Battalion in Camp Pendleton, California, pins the Navy and Marine Corps Medal on Marine Corps veteran Corporal Randy D. Mann during a ceremony in the historical quadrangle at Joint Base San Antonio - Fort Sam Houston, Texas. Mann was awarded the medal during the ceremony in his hometown of San Antonio for his heroic actions while on active duty with the 3D Assault Amphibian Battalion in July 2013.
