U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (Sept. 11, 2017) - Sailors and Marines move supplies from the hangar bay into storage compartments aboard the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6) during a replenishment-at-sea with the dry cargo and ammunition ship USNS Washington Chambers (T-AKE 11) while deployed in support of Alligator Dagger, off the coast of Djibouti. America is the flagship for the America Amphibious Ready Group and, with the embarked 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, is deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
