U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (Sep. 6, 2017) - Landing craft air cushions operated by Sailors of Assault Craft Unit 5 departs the well deck of the amphibious dock landing ship USS Pearl Harbor (LSD 52) while conducting amphibious operations in support of Alligator Dagger. Alligator Dagger is a dedicated, unilateral combat rehearsal for the America Amphibious Ready Group, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force – Crisis Response – Central Command and USS Lewis B. Puller, led by Naval Amphibious Force, Task Force 51/5th Marine Expeditionary Brigade, in which the combined Navy and Marine Corps team are to practice, rehears and exercise integrated capabilities that are available to U.S. Central Command both afloat and ashore.
