    Petty Officer 1st Class Eugene Perez, assigned to the Deep Submergence Unit, explains the functions of the submarine rescue chamber to other divers while performing a test dive in San Diego Bay. The chamber is designed to rescue the crews of disabled U.S. and foreign navy submarines and is capable of rescues at depths of up to 850 feet.
