HONOLULU (Sept. 18, 2017) — Maj. Gen. Kevin Schneider, Chief of Staff for U.S. Pacific Command (PACOM), greets the Honorable Marise Payne, Minister of Defense, Australia, before a commemorative wreath presentation at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. The ceremony honors those dead, missing in action, lost and buried at sea. Payne is in Hawaii to meet with Adm. Harry Harris, Commander of PACOM, and other leaders to discuss the threat posed by North Korea’s ballistic missile and nuclear weapons programs, ballistic missile defense, and the importance of coming together as an international community to create more multilateral partnerships with other nations throughout the Pacific.
