Airman 1st Class Alayna Self, 60th Surgical Operations Squadron, looks over a tray of surgical tools, David Grant U.S. Air Force Medical Center, Sep. 12, 2017, Travis Air Force Base, Calif. Medical surgical technicians from the 60th SGCS sterile processing department, are responsible for the cleaning, inspection, packaging, sterilization, sterile storage and quality assurance process of surgical tools and equipment.
The 60th SGCS sustains more than 1,800 surgical cases involving more than 8,600 specific surgical procedures, including 427 deliveries
