Annual Training is all about readiness and keeping the Soldiers' skills sharp in preparation for possible current and future operations. Combat life saver skills is one of those critical Soldier skills needed to save lives in the battlefield. The Army requires Soldiers to stay proficient in these life saving skills by enforcing recertification every two years. During the recertification Soldiers learn the basic medical principles to quickly perform in the field. Controlling the bleeding is one of the most important tasks to save lives with the training and an issued tourniquette Soldiers are able to identify the specific locatons on where to apply it, and provide Army medical personnel a basis to treat a wounded Soldier.
