Workers with Catamount Constructors, Inc. of Lakewood, Colo., continue construction of the Fort McCoy Access Control Point project Sept. 20, 2017, at Fort McCoy, Wis. A $9.9 million contract for the new construction was awarded in May 2017 to Catamount Constructors Inc. through the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, which is managing the contract. The project description shows construction includes the building of a new identification check area with a new gatehouse; search office; inspection canopies; and development and construction of new roadways, parking, lighting, and traffic control signals. There will be physical security items built into the project, too. This includes passive and active vehicle barriers with comprehensive control systems as well as security fencing, information systems, fire protection and alarm systems, and installation of an Intrusion Detection System.
