U.S. Army Lt. Col. Michael Spears, 1st Battalion, 12th Cavalry Regiment, meets with Iraqi police Col. Hadi Hashish, 6th Emergency Response Battalion, to discuss security and coordination concerns in the Al Basrah province at the Shat Al Arab District Headquarters, Al Tannumal, Iraq, March 13. U.S. soldiers of the 1-12 CAV conduct these meetings to assist Iraqi police in support Iraqi stabilization and Operation New Dawn.
