170916-N-UK248-187 U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (Sept. 16, 2017) Chief Yeoman Ebony Jones (front), a native of Marksville, Louisiana, assigned to the navigation/administration department aboard the amphibious dock landing ship USS Pearl Harbor (LSD 52), and Chief Boatswain’s Mate Joe Wilson, a native of Melbourne, Florida, assigned to the ship’s deck department, prepare macaroni and cheese in the ship’s galley to serve to Sailors and Marine during the steel beach picnic. Pearl Harbor is part of the America Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) and, with the embarked 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), is deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
