    170920-N-UK248-014 U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (Sept. 20, 2017) Hull Technician 2nd Class Sean Vancour (left), a native of College Station, Texas, and Hull Technician 3rd Class Joseph Fleming, a native of Merced, California, both assigned to the engineering department aboard the amphibious dock landing ship USS Pearl Harbor (LSD 52), ensure they are using the correct studs prior to welding them to a connecting rod for a quick acting watertight door in the ship’s hull technician shop. Pearl Harbor is part of the America Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) and, with the embarked 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), is deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
