170917-M-CK339-004 SUEZ CANAL (Sept. 17, 2017) – Navy Sailor Rachkeem Smith, from Waynesboro, Georgia, stands Defense of the Amphibious Task Force aboard the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock USS San Diego while transiting the Suez Canal, Sept. 17, 2017. During the DATF, USS San Diego’s small caliber action team works together with Marines from the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit in order to provide 360-degree coverage of the ship. USS San Diego is deployed with the America Amphibious Ready Group and 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit to support maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations.(U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl.
