Army Spc. Brian P. Lewis, of the 809th Engineering Company, 863rd Engineering Battalion, is awarded the Purple Heart medal by Maj. Gen. Paul E. Crandall, commanding general, 416th Engineering Command. Lewis sustained injuries during an improvised explosive device explosion during a route clearance patrol while deployed to Afghanistan as part of Task Force OVERLORD.
