A member of guided-missile cruiser USS Leyte Gulf Visit Board Search and Seizure team shakes hands with the master of the Philippine-flagged merchant vessel Falcon Trader II which had sent out a distress call reporting it had been boarded by pirates. Helicopters from Leyte Gulf and USS Enterprise responded to the call and were able to disrupt the attack, afterward the VBSS team boarded to ensure the safety and welfare of the crew. Leyte Gulf is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility to conduct maritime security operations. (U.S. Navy photo by Petty Officer 3rd Class Robert Guerra/Released)
