A recruit from Fox Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, unlocks his sea bag for an initial gear inspection during pick up at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Sept. 22. The new recruits conducted the inspection to ensure they had all the required gear and were prepared to begin training. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Fox Company is scheduled to graduate Dec. 15.
