The Julius E. Sprauve School grounds in Cruz Bay, as seen on Oct. 4, 2017, serves as one of two emergency distribution sites on the island of St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands. In the wake of Hurricanes Irma and Maria, U.S. National Guard Soldiers assigned to Task Force Bravo travel from St.Thomas to regularly distribute emergency rations, water and essential supplies to the residents of St. John from both Cruz Bay, and the St. John Fire Department in Coral Bay.
