Joint Base Charleston’s North Auxiliary Airfield in South Carolina, serves as a temporary ISB to support Hurricane Irma relief efforts Sept. 13, 2017. The airfield acts as a receiving and distribution staging area for goods and commodities that will be transported to hurricane victims here and areas to the south over the next few weeks. Airmen of the 43rd Air Mobility Operations Group, Pope Army Airfield, N.C., and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security - Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) are working side-by-side in the execution of relief efforts.
