Petty Officer 1st Class Nicholas Gerloff, machinist's mate, assigned to the submarine tender USS Frank Cable, uses a Radiac meter on Rear Adm. Jeffery "Scott" Jones aboard the amphibious dock landing ship USS Harpers Ferry to monitor possible radiological contamination. Jones is the prospective commander of Amphibious Force 7th Fleet. Harpers Ferry is providing humanitarian assistance to Japan as directed in support of Operation Tomodachi.
