Combined Joint Task Force-Horn of Africa Commanding General, U.S. Marine Corps Brig. Gen. David Furness, visits Marines that secure the U.S. Embassy in Tanzania, Sept. 27, 2017. During the visit, Furness specifically recognized U.S. Marine Sgt. Jessica Valdez, Assistant Detachment Commander Section Chief and U.S. Marine Sgt. Jun Choi, Staff Section of Supply and Vehicle Noncommissioned Officer, for good performance. Furness met with Chargé d’Affaires Inmi Patterson and other embassy officials to discuss military partnership opportunities that enhance security and stability in Tanzania and the East Africa region.
