DJIBOUTI, AFRICA (Oct. 10, 2017) – A Marine with Combined Anti-Armor Tank Platoon, 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit’s Ground Combat Element, transitions between platforms during the mountain obstacle course portion of the French Desert Commando Course. The multi-day course challenged both U.S. and French service members mentally and physically as they worked together to learn and overcome the fundamentals of desert combat and survival. The 15th MEU and America Amphibious Ready Group’s forward deployed nature ensures that when called upon they are postured and prepared to respond to any crisis in the region whether at sea, from the sea or ashore.
