Naval leadership from the United States, Republic of Korea and United Nations Command Sending States, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Philippines, Republic of South Africa, Turkey, United Kingdom and Japan came together aboard the USS LST-686 to discuss mine warfare capability and to view demonstrations during a Multinational Mine Countermeasures Warfare Exercise (MN MIWEX) in waters off of the eastern coast of the Republic of Korea. MN MIWEX is a multinational exercise held between the U.S.Navy and Republic of Korea Navy to strengthen interoperability and increase proficiencies in mine countermeasure operations.
