A team of Task Force Iron Eagles, composed of two HH-60 Blackhawk helicopters from the 6th Battalion, 101st Aviation Regiment, 101st Combat Aviation Brigade, 101st Airborne Division, and one MV-22 Osprey from the Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 264, transported patients requiring medical care as the VMM flew the patients requiring medical care from Saint Thomas to Roosevelt Roads Navel Station, Puerto Rico, where the patients were then taken to the T-AH20 USNS Comfort, off the coast of Puerto Rico by the 6-101st GSAB, where they received further care from the Sailors on board, Oct. 20, 2017. Such aerial-medical coordinations occur daily as all of the armed service branches work together assisting the local and federal responders caring for the health of those impacted by Hurricane Maria.
