The Air Reserve Component Weapons and Tactics Council (ARC WEPTAC) was held October 16-20 at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base and at the Air National Guard’s 162nd Fighter Wing in Tucson, Arizona. This year’s theme was “Defend the Homeland - Global Warfighters” which focused attendees on what they need to enhance the capabilities of their weapon systems and meet emerging needs.
One innovation from WEPTAC is the addition of the LITENING Pod to C-130 aircraft to aid with single pass precision air drops. This capability will allow mobility air crew to acquire and designate targets from a standoff location.
In this photo an Arkansas Air National Guard C-130 from the 189th Airlift Wing is equipped with a LITENING Pod to demonstrate the capability to WEPTAC attendees.
