Sgt. 1st Class Jimmie Smith, left, of the 928th Military Police, Connecticut Army National Guard allows "Hector," a military working dog and his handler Sgt. Darwin Japlos of the Philippine air force to practice attack drills during an exchange of K-9 techniques between U.S. soldiers, airmen and members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines while at Clark Field, Philippines, for Exercise Balikatan 2011 on April 7. Balikatan means "shoulder to shoulder" in Tagalog and is an annual Republic of the Philippines and United States bilateral military humanitarian assistance and training exercise that will take place in the Philippines April 5-15. The training helps maintain readiness and sustain the long-term security assistance relationship shared between the two countries.
