Two U.S. Army CH-47 Chinooks takeoff from Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, Oct. 22, 2017. The Chinooks conducted a joint flight with the 83rd Expeditionary Rescue Squadron in preparation for the CH-47 taking over for the HH-60 Pave Hawk. The 83rd ERQS, which has been strictly U.S. Air Force personnel, will be a joint unit containing Air Force pararescuemen and combat rescue officers and U.S. Army helicopters and pilots.
