San Juan, Puerto Rico – Members from the Florida 2 Disaster Medical Assistance Team of the National Disaster Medical System set up a base of operation to provide medical care to the people of San Juan, Puerto Rico, Oct. 26, 2017. The team is assisting the USNS Comfort in aiding the people of Puerto Rico and alleviating pressure on local hospitals. Due to structural damage at local hospitals and a weakened power grid, some facilities are unable to provide the level of medical attention that they were able to before the hurricane.
