Polaris Defense MRZR D4s, with Marine Operational Test and Evaluation Squadron One (VMX-1), are staged onboard Landing Craft, Air Cushion 31 with Assault Craft Unit 5, in preparation for a surface movement as part of expeditionary advanced base operations, Oct. 25, 2017, during Exercise Dawn Blitz. Marine Aircraft Control Group 38, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, in coordination with VMX-1, is employing the MRZRs as a proof of concept for the Tactical Air Control Element (TACE); the TACE provides aviation command and control to the Marine Air Ground Task Force via an internally transportable, digitally interoperable and organic sensor capability.
