U.S. Marines with Marine Wing Support Squadron (MWSS) 372, Marine Aircraft Group 39, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, connect fuel lines to an M970 semi-trailer refueler on San Clemente Island, California, Oct. 24, 2017, as part of Exercise Dawn Blitz. MWSS-372 established a forward arming and refueling point and serviced both U.S. Navy and Marine Corps aviation platforms while conducting expeditionary advanced base operations. Dawn Blitz 17 provides an opportunity to train Navy and Marine Corps counterparts in establishing scalable and agile expeditionary advanced bases capable of expanding littoral maneuver capabilities.
