KING GEORGE, Va. (Sept. 26. 2017) – Dr. Marty Irvine - director of systems engineering at the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research, Development, Test and Evaluation - speaks during the Electromagnetic Maneuver Warfare (EMW) Systems Engineering and Acquisition Conference sponsored by the Association of Old Crows and Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD). Industry, academia, and Department of Defense experts discussed the advancement of electromagnetic warfare throughout the three-day event. Conference attendees toured NSWCDD labs and collaborated with the scientists and engineers behind the command's strategic thrusts and its electromagnetic and sensor systems technologies. NSWCDD strategic thrusts - electric weapons, mission engineering and analysis, and cyber warfare engineering – coupled with the command's technical expertise in the fields of spectrum management, electromagnetics, electronic warfare, and surface Navy radars are crucial to the Navy's development and integration of capabilities to enable EMW.
