Chief Petty Officer Daniel Cash, the consolidated diving chief with 1st Recconaissance Battalion, prepares to dive while donning the Marine Corps' new Combat Dive Vests at the 43 Area training pool, April 20. The new CDV provides better bouyancy control during dive missions, attaches tactical equipment using the Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment system and attaches the diver's scuba equipment. The CDV's consolidated system saves the Marine Corps money.
