NORFOLK, Va. (November 2, 2017) Amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5), Commanding Officer, Capt. Eric Pfister, presents Lt. Cmdr. Germaine Halbert with a Metorious Service medal during her retirement ceremony held at Vista Point, Naval Station Norfolk. Halbert is retiring after 25 years of honorable service, culminating with her position of Damage Control Assistant aboard Bataan. The ship is preparing to go into a maintenance availability.
