CAMP KINSER, OKINAWA, Japan – A Kinser Elementary student listens to directions on making the “senbaruzu” that will be given to the elementary school students effected by Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico Nov. 6 aboard Camp Kinser, Okinawa, Japan. Senbazuru is a group of 1,000 origami paper cranes made of 25 long strands of 40 cranes. The students counted the cranes in buddy pairs, carefully counting each string of 40. The local and military community, and even students in Germany, donated so many cranes that the Kinser Elementary students will be making two senbazuru for the students of Antilles Elementary School in Puerto Rico.
