U.S. Marine Corps Gen. Glenn M. Walters, assistant commandant of the Marine Corps, meets and speaks with Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting Marines during a Pacific Command site visit at Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan, Nov. 7, 2017. This was Walters’ first visit to PACOM as the assistant commandant, and he spent two days at MCAS Iwakuni. His primary mission was simply to speak to Marines. He took questions and discussed various topics such as military readiness, regional conflicts and future challenges facing the Corps, while directly expressing his gratitude and appreciation of today’s Marines.
