Builder 3rd Class John Williams, a Seabee with Construction Diving Detachment Alfa (CDDA), Underwater Construction Team 2, cleans off a sheet pile using an underwater hydraulic grinder on November 2, 2017. CDDA is restoring the November Wharf at Naval Base Guam by replacing the cathodic protection. This project will extend the facility’s service life providing critical berthing space for U.S. 7th Fleet assets. CDDA is on the last stop of their six-month deployment, where they are conducting inspections, maintenance, and repairs of various underwater and waterfront facilities in support of the U.S. Pacific Fleet.
