ATLANTIC OCEAN (Nov. 8, 2017) Fire Controlman 3rd Class Leighna Chambers of Helena, Montana, and Fire Controlman 2nd Class Cody Benton of Hammond, Louisiana, load the close-in weapon system with 20 mm tungsten, Mark 244 MOD 0 rounds in preparation for a live-fire exercise aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7). Iwo Jima, components of the Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group and the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit are conducting a Combined Composite Training Unit Exercise that is the culmination of training for the Navy-Marine Corps team and will certify them for deployment.
