1st Lt. Stephen Lloyd with 2nd Combined Arms Battalion, 69th Armor Regiment, 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division crosses the monkey bar obstacle at the 3rd Annual Thornsbury Challenge during Marne Week, Nov. 15, 2017 at Fort Stewart, Ga. The challenge, named in honor of Sgt. 1st Class Duane A. Thornsbury, is composed of an obstacle course, a memory test, a ruck march, a casualty evacuation, and a run. Thornsbury gave his life in defense of his country while assigned to 2nd Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group on Sept. 12, 2009 in Baghdad, Iraq. Marne Week is a celebration for Soldiers to compete in team sports and recreational group activities while honoring the division’s service to the nation.
