Former Alaska Territorial and National Guard member Sgt. 1st Class Samuel Jackson recalls his time in service during an interview in Kwethluk, Alaska, Sept. 22, 2017. Known as the Eskimo Scouts, the ATG stood watch on the shores of western Alaska during World War II in response to occupation of the Aleutian Islands.
