Combat engineers with Engineer Support Company, 9th Engineer Support Battalion, Combat Logistics Regiment 3, dig a trench while building an underground bunker, Oct. 28, 2017 at Rodriguez Live Fire Range, Paju, South Korea. The Marines with 9th ESB built an expeditionary base on the range to remain as a standing capability for future units that rotate through the training area. The base was built as a part of Exercise Winter Workhorse 17/ Korean Marine Exchange Program 18.1, which familiarizes the American armed forces with the Korean Peninsula and builds upon an enduring alliance between the two militaries.
