U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Reginald Thompson enjoys soft-serve ice cream from the Kandahar Airfield ice cream truck April 19, 2011. As summer begins in southern Afghanistan, service members continue to look for innovative ways to beat the heat. Thompson is a member of Joint Sustainment Command – Afghanistan comprised of the 184th Expeditionary Sustainment Command, a Mississippi Army National Guard unit headquartered in Laurel, Miss. The unit has been deployed to Afghanistan since early October in support of logistics operations for Operation Enduring Freedom.
