CAMP HUMPHREYS, Republic of Korea – Chaplain (Capt.) Jason Palmer, the 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division chaplain, encourages Soldiers during the Kapaun Memorial Ruck March on November 2, 2017. The ruck march marked the 67th anniversary of Chaplain (Capt.) Emil Kapaun’s capture by enemy forces and the beginning of a subsequent 87 mile forced march to a North Korean POW camp. Chaplain Palmer served as the Officer in Charge (OIC) for the ruck march at Camp Humphreys. Soldiers who completed the 18.6-mile ruck march in the allotted time were awarded the Norwegian Foot March badge.
