Marines assigned to the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit embarked aboard the amphibious dock landing ship USS Whidbey Island (LSD 41) stand by for words from Lt. Col. Gordon D. Miller, commanding officer Battalion Landing Team 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment 22nd MEU, on the ship’s flight deck. The Whidbey Island is deployed as part of the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group, supporting maritime security operations and theater security cooperation effort in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of responsibility.
