An integrated ice imaging system is enclosed in a Common Science Support Pod and mounted onto one of the 139th Expeditionary Airlift Squadron’s LC-130 “Skibirds.” The 139th EAS is scheduled to fly 18 IcePod missions this Operation Deep Freeze season allowing researchers to obtain a comprehensive picture of the Ross Ice Shelf.
