William Callaway, Eighth Air Force historian, holds an Imperial Japanese Army prisoner of war identification card belonging to Lloyd Ponder, a World War II veteran, who was held as a Japanese POW. Ponder recalled nearly all of his experiences during World War II, and has shared his story with the local community in hopes that people today will learn valuable lessons about what individuals endured during the war. Ponder attributed his survival to determination, hope and perseverance. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Erin Trower)
